He is survived by: his parents, Leo Altenberg and May Jeannette Altenberg (Shapiro); his spouse Frances Clapp; his child Psychiatry; his wife Jeananne Cameron Altenberg of Kittery; his children, Elizabeth Volpe of Albany, N. Y., Lucy Martel of Surrey, BC, Edward Altenberg (Jody) of Santa Cruz and Emily Friedman (Keith) of Durham, N. C.; his stepchildren, Stephen, David, Linda and Mark; his grandchildren, Kevin Altenberg, Zoie Altenberg, Sarah Friedman and Rachel Friedman; his stepgrandchildren, Lori, Benjamin, Meghan, Cullen and Liam; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Dakota, Isabella, Mallory and Andrew; and also, Henry and Paul Taylor. He is also survived by niece and nephews.
