It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Helen Frances Burnham of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, born in Springfield, Massachusetts, who passed away on December 27, 2021, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kevin Carey and Regina Carey (Lynch); and her sister Catherine. She is survived by: her husband John; her sons, John (Maureen) of Melrose, MA, Brian (Lani) of Manchester, NH and James (Dorothy) of Newburyport, MA; her siblings, Kevin Carey (Cathy), Regina Ferris (Tom), William Carey (Susan) and Patrick Carey (Jacqueline); and her grandchildren, Jack, Nora, Annie, Addie of Charlie, JJ and Luke.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Helen's name to the Seacoast Cancer Center, Wentworth Douglas Hospital Foundation, 789 Central Avenue, Dover, NH 03820, or she would love if you donated a book in her name to a library in need.

“Tom and I are deeply sorry to hear of the passing of Helen. We have so many happy memories with her and the family. Her deep love for her wonderful boys she was so proud of the men they have became. When I see photos of the grandkids I see Helen’s warm loving smile. She will be missed be everyone who knows her. She will always be with her family she is that gentle breeze that they feel, that gentle touch on their shoulders a beautiful butterfly that comes by to see that everyone is okay”
