She was predeceased by: her father Harry; her husband James P. MacDonald; her son-in-law James E. Hathaway; her sister Virginia Parks; and her brother-in-law John Parks.
She is survived by: her daughters, Pamela Hathaway, Lori Sullivan (Mike), Cathy Bartley (Stephen) and Lynda MacDonald; her grandchildren, Jake Hathaway (Emily), Lauren Johnson (Ben) and James Sullivan; her great grandchildren, Audrey and Amelia Hathaway; her close friend Rebecca Wylie; and her pets, Tucker, Finnegan, Riley and Sunny. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Barbie's memory to The Benderson Family Heart Center at Boston Children's Hospital.
