He was predeceased by: his parents, Stuart Hale and Margaret Hale (Betterley); his sister Alice Stevenson (Hale); and his cousin Margaret Cook (Peggy). He is survived by: his wife Irma Hale (Abels); his son Alan Hale (Julianna Hale) of Atkinson; his grandchildren, Daniel and Rachel; and his cousins, Edward Betterley, Carole Buchanan, Janet Tysse and Elizabeth Betterley.
