It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wendell George Oakes (Piermont, New Hampshire), born in Bath, New Hampshire, who passed away on February 12, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Weston and Lottie M. Oakes (Gates); his former wife Virginia May Oakes (Rogers); his great grandchild Jacob Seth Conrad; and his siblings, Lorraine Blanchard and Wayne Oakes.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Oakes (Boyce) of Piermont; his children, Brenda Hathaway (Kurt) of Londonderry, VT, Dale Oakes (Kathy) of Piermont, Rodney Oakes (Gina Giudici-Oakes) of Piermont and Daniel Oakes (Michelle) of Piermont; his stepchildren, Betty Wheeler (Chip) of Fairfax, VT, Janet Molleur (Jerry) of Corinth, VT, Sharon Patneaude (Roy) of Colchester, VT and Harley Vance (Sharon) of Groton, VT; his brothers, Winston Oakes (Jane) of Piermont, Winfield Oakes (Dawn) of Port Townsend, WA and Neil Oakes (Dot) of Piermont; and his brother-in-law Al Blanchard of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by nine step grandchildren and thirteen step great grandchildren.
