He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph F. Bateman and Gertrude H. Bateman (Macdonald); and his siblings, Joseph F. Bateman, Jr., Robert, Richard Bateman and Harriet Bateman Fremont-Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela F. Bateman (Noury). He is also survived by his wife he leaves numerous nieces and nephews.
