He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Beulah Benson (Alto) and Richard Benson, Sr.; his wife Sue Benson (Parizo); his brother Alex Benson; his grandson Thomas Simpson, Jr.; his children, Tara Benson (James Richardson) of Newport, Theresa Davis (Matthew) of Newport, Tracie West of Concord and Dale West (Sherry) of Claremont; his siblings, Hilda Benson, Richard Benson, Jr., Brian, Dean and Kevin Benson; and also Beulah Benson of Newport. He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
