She was predeceased by: her parents, Chalon Blish and Emma Blish (Shambo); her husband Jim W. Carter; her brother Kenneth; and her sister-in-law Helen Gaddis.
She is survived by: her children, Erin Marie, Jim and Kellie Simoneau; her sons-in-law, Ralph Simoneau (Erin Norris) and Jeremy Norris; her brother David Blish; her siblings-in-law, Donna Blish, Richard (Dickie) and Patricia Carter; her grandchildren, Mason, Madison and Corbin; her great grandchildren, Meredith, Levi, Hattie and Rita-Lynn; her nieces and nephews, Eric, Jenn Carter, Melinda, David Carpenter, Rebecca Blish, Tori Bussiere and Michael Blish; and her sister Diane Bloch (Jim).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Karens name to the Jack Bryne Center in Lebanon, NH.
