She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald B. Brooks and Ruby A. Brooks (Butcher); and her son Bruce Hamel. She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Hamel; her children, Lynn Maskell (Bill) of North Newport, Debra Pevine (Michael) of Barefoot Bay, FL, Gregory Hamel (Angela Whittemore) of Newport, Mitchell Hamel (Fran) of Concord, Elyse Downey (Chris) of Franklin and Letitia Hamel (Chris) of Hillsboro; her sister Dawna Jangel (Victor) of Claremont; and her sisters-in-law, Joyce Disa (Tony) and Barbara Gouin. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
