He is survived by: his wife Alice Mary Dawes Gilbert; his children, Brenda Gilbert, Robin Gilbert and Robert Gilbert; his siblings, Joella Dehay, David Gilbert and Lloyd Gilbert; his granddaughters, Paige and Olivia Lasonde; and his nieces, Niki Hunter and Leah Hunter. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
