He was loved and cherished by many people including: his fathers, Walter Barton Leach and Edward Sturgis of Boston; his former spouses, Evlyn Bardeen and Cornelia McElroy; his wife Nell; and his children, Elizabeth Bert, Malcolm Leach, Virginia Townsend, Nathaniel Leach, Tim Wheelock and Coco Birmingham. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren.
