He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Birk and Florence Birk (Baney); and his brother Robert. He is survived by: his friend Jane Birk (Ottavian); his children, Christopher Alan Birk (Kelli) of New Hartford, CT, Susan Elizabeth Birk Nelson (Glen) of Burlington, CT and Edward Hunt (Ted); his grandchildren, Kyla Anne Birk, Fox Alan, Vayle Ottavia, Aidan Edward Nelson, Alyster Ozroy and Helena Maeve Birk; his sister-in-law Carol Birk; his niece Whitey Lawler; and his cousins, Rick Lombardi (Donna) and Diana Lombardi.
