He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Hakala and Ida Hakala of New Ipswich; and his brothers, Theodore and Steven Hakala. He is survived by: his siblings, Robert Hakala, Diane Rautio (Hakala), Richard Hakala, John Hakala and Ginger Heagy (Hakala); his wife Linda Hakala (Brush); his daughters, Kristin Marchildon (Douglas), Karen Olsson (Christopher), Susan Hakala and Elisabeth Hakala; and his grandchildren, Courtland Summerville, Amberley, Heather, William Olsson, Luke Hakala, Sage Hakala Austin, Bella Hakala Austin and Drake Hakala. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
