He was predeceased by: his parents, Basil Shepard and Ethel Shepard (Merrill); his wife Rita N. Shepard; and his siblings, William M. Shepard, Wanda Richard, Norma Keating, Lois LoPiano and Janice Rosato.

He is survived by: his children, Donald C. Shepard Jr. (Sandra) of Milford, Robert M. Shepard (Linda) of Pelham and Brenda S. Conrad (Albert) of Groton; his grandchildren, Derek Conrad of Rochester, Michael Shepard (Mia) of Nashua, Nicholas Shepard (Linda) of Nashua, Stephanie Gardner (Eli) of Bridgewater, MA, Nicole Zaremski (Jeffrey) of Norwood, MA, Allison Shaffer (Justin), Portland and Lindsay Shepard of Brooklyn, NY; his great grandchildren, Savannah, Sophia, Camden and Peyton Rose; and his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Shepard, Irene Fortune and Frances Nazer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
