He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Gowdy and Lillian Gowdy; his wife Berthe Gowdy (Maurice); his daughter Patricia Malik (Gowdy); and his sisters, Norma Albert (Gowdy) and Lucille Delbove (Gowdy).
He is survived by: his children, Mary Gowdy (Christopher Burns) of Fitchburg, MA, Marc (Rebecca Gowdy), Bruce Gowdy (Eve Aldridge) of Oakland, CA and Scott (Michele Gowdy); his sister Louise Watson (Gowdy); and his grandchildren, Benjamin Gowdy, Stuart Gowdy, Alia Pharr (Malik), Jaheed Malik, Brendan Gowdy, Heather Wiand (Gowdy) and Alyssa Gowdy. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
