He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Lawson and Loretta Lawson (Dyer). He is survived by: his wife Lillian Lawson (Cabana); and his brothers, Ralph Lawson of Atkinson, NH and Russell Lawson (Mary) of Florida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dick's name to the American Cancer Society.
