He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Armand Fortier and Simone Fortier; his son Thomas Fortier; his daughter-in-law Mary-Ellen Fortier; his siblings, Pricilla Brodeur, Leonard Fortier, Pauline Lones, Jacqueline Kendall, Shirley Stickney (Phil) and Roger Fortier; his grandchildren, Christian Fortier and Hannah Fortier; and his wife Lena Fortier.
