He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Portz and Elizabeth Portz; his brother Ronald Portz; his wife Jean Portz; his sister Eloise Toth; his daughter Natalie Jo Flamburis; his son-in-law David Flamburis; and his grandchildren, Paul, Dale and Jackson Flamburis.
