He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Martha Phillips (Nissen); his daughter Ruth Walsh; his sister Alice Westphal (Phillips); his parents, Alton Elmer Anton Phillips and Linnea Phillips (Larson); his daughters, Janet Grigsby (Phillip) and Ellen Chasse (Dennis); his grandsons, Stephen Walsh (Stefanie), Matthew Grigsby, Christopher Grigsby, Derek Chasse (Jessica) and Keith Chasse; and his great grandchildren, Ryan, Riley Walsh, Morgan and Travis Chasse.

The family invites memorial donations to either the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or to the American Meteorological Society.
