He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph H. Fontes and Yolanda A. Fontes (Sabella); his wife Wanda Tomlinson; his children, Joshua Fontes (Denna) and Jessica Thorp (Larry) of Portsmouth; his grandchildren, Lilliana and Nayeli Fontes; and his sister Linda Burns (John).
He was a Big Brother in the BBBS program, volunteered at United Way serving on the Allocation Committee, and prior to the pandemic, spent several years serving at the 1269 Café and DYKH Ministries working with the undeserved community.
