He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Comfort and Agnes Comfort (Wood); and his siblings, Charles Comfort Jr., James Comfort and Mary "Alice" Rapoza Linehan.
He is survived by: his wife Maureen Comfort (Fenelon); his sister Diane Wesson (Wayne Wesson) of Ipswich, MA; his sister-in-law Carolyn Comfort of Tewksbury, MA; his children, Patricia Comfort (Jeffrey Calmus) of Marblehead, MA, William Comfort Jr. of Northampton, MA and Christopher Comfort (Lisa Comfort) of Stoneham, MA.; and his granddaughter Nora Comfort Tirrell of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
