He was predeceased by: his parent John "Jack" Cawley. He is survived by: his parent Mary Cawley (Harrington); and his sisters, Ann Gavin and Mary Theresa Cawley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, in-laws, and a host of longtime friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
