He is survived by: his parents, Everest Smith and Jessie Virginia Walsh Barnes; his children, Karen Boccia, Kristin Smith (Nicholas Baer), Murray Smith (Debby) and Brian Smith (Susan Cohen); his son-in-law James Boccia; his grandchildren, Nicholas, James, Alyssa Boccia, Marliese, Lili, Elias Baer, William MacKinnon, Rebeccah Edison and Tim Cohen; and his siblings, Carole Goodrich, John Barnes, Thomas Barnes and Kevin Barnes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
