He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles F. Doherty and Mary E. Doherty (Eliot); and his sister Virginia Shaw. He is survived by: his wife Marie I. Doherty (Sutcliffe); his children, Dennis J. Doherty (Sharleen) of Shrewsbury, MA. and Angela M. Gray of Plymouth, MA.; his stepson Robert J. Santos (Joan) of Derry, NH.; his siblings, Charles Doherty of Arizona and Marjorie Harris of Walpole, MA.; and his stepdaughter Carolanne Dawley-Laurel (Santos). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
