He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Hermans Smith, Sr. and Sarah Purdy Smith; his stepmother Eithel Gerth Neilson Smith; and his stepbrother Oscar William Neilson. He is survived by: his sister Carol Baitinger; his half-brother Thomas Smith; his stepbrother George Neilson; his wife Margaret Louise Smith; and his children, Clifton Herman Smith III, Anthony Gardner Smith, Sarah Lee Stinson and Connie May McIntyre. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
