David L. Hattenbrun III Obituary
David Lloyd Hattenbrun III, age-83, passed away unexpectedly June 4, 2024 at his home in Kensington, NH. He was born July 26, 1940 in New York City, NY, son of the late David Lloyd Hattenbrun Jr. and Bertha (Latoki) Hattenbrun.
David grew up in the Bronx, NY and he was an only child in his family. He graduated high school in Washingtonville, NY as his parents had a summer residence there. He also earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Seton Hall University in Biology. David served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was stationed in Mt. Lodge, NY and was discharged as a Lieutenant. Professionally, David worked as a cosmetic chemist for Avon in New York City. Later he worked all over New England for the Boilermaker's Union. He married Alice Hall on July 7, 1984 in Bridgewater, MA. And they permanently moved to Kensington, NH in 1985.
David belonged to the American Legion Post in Kensington, NH and the Clan Keith Scottish Society.
His hobbies included Bladesmithing to make Scottish Dirks and he would hand carve the handles. Through the years he sold numerous of his creations to collectors. David won the Mr. Clean competition in New England in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Hattenbrun, son, Gordon Hattenbrun, 2 grandchildren, Abigail and Logan and 1 great-grandson, Daniel Allan Deuger.
