Catherine V. Dwyer Obituary
Dr. Catherine V. Dwyer, 89, of Juniper Lane, Keene, NH, passed away, surrounded in the love of her friends, on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the Cheshire Medical Center / Dartmouth Hitchcock, Keene, following a brief illness. Catherine was born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, on April 12, 1928, and was the daughter of Thomas J. and Catherine C. (Canavan) Dwyer.
She graduated from Marywood College in Scranton, PA, and received her doctorate in medicine from the Women's Medical College of Pennsylvania She was a colonel in the U.S. Army and also worked as a physician for several healthcare providers in California, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire, including positions in the emergency room, state prison, addiction medicine, and occupational health.
In addition, she spent two years as a doctor in Malawi. Dr. Dwyer will be greatly missed by her many dear friends across the country and in Canada. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 20 at 12:30PM in St. Margaret Mary Church, 33 Arch Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene.
