He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Plante and Anna Plante (Roy); and his siblings, Luc Plante (Annette), Marc Plante (Helene), Renald Plante (Mariette), Huguette Plante (Benoit Faucher), Andre Plante (Helene) and Rene Plante (Francine).

He is survived by: his wife Denyse Plante (Blais); his children, Marco Plante (Cindy), Jennie Arnold (Roger), Christine St. Laurent (Keith), Nathalie Plante and Jeano Plante; his grandchildren, Devin Plante (Abby), Jovanna Plante (Cameron Beaulieu), Travis Arnold (Jenna Breault), Kamren Arnold, Amelia St. Laurent and Kason St. Laurent; and his siblings, Sylvie Plante (late Clermont Beaudoin), Jacqueline Plante (Jean-Marie Plante), Pierre Plante (Nicole), Jean Plante (Louise), Claude Plante (Helene), Lise Pelletier (Leo), Helene Duquette (late Marc), Nicole Guerrette (late Ed) and Guylaine Plante (Roger Lessard).
