He is survived by: his girlfriend Julie Leavitt; his children, Krista Mayle (Brandon Mayle), Jon Porter and Anthony Couris; his grandchildren, Liam, Kinsley, Emily and Matthew; his siblings, Roxanne Stolarczyk, Tim Teserio and Steve Teserio; his mother-in-law Barbara Leavitt; and his brother-in-law Mark Leavitt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Karel's name to Heritage Baptist Church.
