He was predeceased by: his wife Alva Dodge Smith; his son Steven E Smith; his grandson Lance E Smith; his siblings, Francis Anderson, Leona Hanson and Elwin Smith; and his parents, Frank Leon Smith and Luella Hartford Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Murray, Sheryl Smith and Simone Palmer; his granddaughter Mistyn Palmer; and his great grandchildren, Jacob Murray and Emily Palmer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
