He was predeceased by: his son Carlton F. Messinger II; and his parents, Josephine Messinger and Colonel Carlton Messinger. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his son Adam Messinger; his mother-in-law June Rizzo; his brother Peter Messinger; his sister-in-law Patty; his sister Martha Messinger; and his siblings-in-law, Patricia Babcock (Mel) and Steven Rizzo (Loree). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces.
