Leslie Downing Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leslie Downing of Harrisville, New Hampshire, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 7, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James H. Hastings and Ruth B. Hastings (Bemis); her brother James Hastings Jr.; her nephew James Hastings III; her siblings-in-law, James Downing, Mary Lou Downing and John Gund; and her nephew Peter Pray.
She is survived by: her husband Russell Downing of Epsom, NH; her son George Downing (Terri) of Keene; her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Andrew; her son Brian Downing (Sarah) of Keene; her grandchildren, Meredith, Jocelyn and Skylar (Elisa) of Harrisville; her great grandchildren, Aubrey, Bryce and Saige; her sister-in-law Pat Hastings of Keene; her niece Jenna of Surry; and her siblings-in-law, Laura Gund of Lee, Mary Pray of Florida and Philip Downing of Oregon. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel (44 Maple Ave, Keene, NH 03431). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Community Church of Harrisville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Community Church of Harrisville and Chesham, or to Harrisville Fire and Rescue.
