He was predeceased by: his father Carl Gentry Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Gentry; his son Ryan Long; his mother Mary Gentry; and his siblings, Carl Gentry Jr. (Elizabeth), Richard Gentry (Maureen) and Elaine Arion (Edward). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He never hesitated to donate to animal charities and rescue leagues.
