He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Messina and Concetta Messina (Fichera); his sisters, Grace Ricardy and Carmella Apice; and his granddaughter Elle Vulgaris.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Messina (Tibbitts); his daughters, Laurie Bennett of Great Falls, VA, Kelly Godfrey (Mark) of Wilmington, NC, Julie Vulgaris (Jerry) of Jupiter, FL, Jodie Liston (David) of La Canada, CA and Suzan Messina (Peter) of Windham, NH; and his grandchildren, Madison, Cameron Godfrey, Carter, Caroline Bennett, Sloan, Gerard Vulgaris, Sienna, Chase Liston, Brittany Fetzner and Tyler Ohanian. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
