He is survived by: his wife Eileen May Smith (Hosmer); his children, Brian K Smith (Adrienne) of Franklin, Thomas A. Smith of Phoenix, Laura L. Smith (Gary Barnes) of Webster and Justina M. Fitzgerald (Ted) of Northfield, Two; his granddaughters, Shaina (Eric) and Sidney (Chris); his great grandchildren, Alec, Kate, Benjamin and Lincoln; his sister Laura M. LaRoche of Franklin; and his daughter-in-law Robin Smith of Arizona.
