We are sad to announce that on January 3, 2025, at the age of 79, George VanGilder Shirley of Franklin, New Hampshire passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though George VanGilder may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those George VanGilder touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Crocket Shirley and Jean VanGilder Shirley. He is survived by: his son Stefan Livingstone Shirley (Kristin Marie) of Dudley, MA.; his brother William Scott Shirley of Shippensburg, PA; his aunt Eda (Shirley); and his cousins, Shirley Highfield of West Yarmouth, MA. and Joan Metcalf-Linsay of Gainesville, FL..
He was also active in Biathlon and local athletic charity events benefiting veterans.
