He is survived by: his wife Inez (Clark); his children, Patricia Root (Richard Beaulieu) of Stratham, NH, Robert Root Jr. (Glinda) of Morriston, FL and Laura Flachbart (Kurt) of Naples, ME.; his granddaughters, Tiffany Root of Greenville, SC, Laura Shanks of Rochester, NY and Kelly Shanks of Lima, NY; his great grandchildren, Luca, Jaxon and Sidney; and his brother Ronald Root of Essex Jct.
