He was predeceased by: his parents, George Durling and Bridie Durling (Wholihan); and his brother George Durling. He is survived by: his wife Martha; his sons, Kevin Greaney (Heidi), Mark Durling and Douglas Durling; his grandchildren, John, Andrew, Alexander and Alexandria; and his nieces, Janis Blonda and Judy Durling.
Donations in his memory can be made to the Seacoast Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine.
