He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward F Mears, Jr. and Barbara Handy Mears. He is survived by: his wife Peggy (Peggy) of Yolanda's Restaurant; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Teddy, Patrick, Melissa, Shayna, Aaron, Issac, Curtis, Clarissa, Kehley, Ceara, Devon, Brandon and Davia. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
