He is survived by: his wife Susan Lanigan Gilbert; his children, Sam Gilbert (Cara) of Sturbridge, MA and Jennie Stoutenburg (Casey) of Exeter, NH; his grandchildren, Samuel, Caitlyn, Pia and Thomas; and his sister Joan Thayer of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
