He was predeceased by: his mother-in-law Patricia Haadsma; his siblings, Eileen Drew, Claire Fournier, Harold Dawley, Fred Dawley and Richard Dawley; and his brothers-in-law, John Musto, Herbert Nelson, Nick Savage and Bill Sherry.

He is survived by: his wife Mari; his children, Diana Summers (Moody) of Covington, GA, Linda Miller (Tony) of Charlotte, NC and David Dawley of Morgantown, WV; his grandchildren, Allison Dawley, Daniel Dawley of Morgantown, WV and Grant Summers of Covington, GA.; his siblings, Terry Nelson of Virginia Beach, VA, Muriel Musto of Haines City, FL, Lillian Jedson (Dan) of Haines City, FL, Anne Savage of Virginia Beach, VA and Bob Dawley (Kathy) of St. Cloud, FL; his father-in-law Roger Haadsma of Rockford, MI; and his siblings-in-law, James Haadsma (Luanne) of Croton, MI, Luanne Dewey (Larry) of Indianapolis, IN and Gail Sherry of Garrison, NY..
