He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Joseph Stec and Helen Ann Stec (Janik); and his wife Patricia. He is survived by: his daughter Lisa; his son-in-law Tor Bieker; his daughter Kimberly Stec; his granddaughters, Rane and Sofie Bieker; his sisters, Eleanor Gualtieri and Dianne; his brother-in-law William Crone; his nephews, Joseph Gualtieri and William Crone; his niece Catherine Cunningham; and his great-nieces, Chloe, Emily and Penelope.
