He is survived by: his parents, Han Q. Kuo and Lily Chang Kuo; his wife Qian-Shan C. Kuo of Durham; his son Timothy Kuo of Virginia; his grandchildren, Brian Kuo and Amy Kuo; and his brother Shan Y. Kuo of Beijing.
