He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill and Verna; and his sister Eileen Smith. He is survived by: his significant other Judy Casey; his daughters, Kristen Gould (Bobby) of Spring and Susan Redden of Austin, Texas; his grandsons, Bryce Gould and Chase Gould; and his sister Barbara Spillane of Dover. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials in his name may be made to Scholarship America or Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
