He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Emile Girard and Ida Girard (Dagenais); his wife Phyllis DeLaurier (Fall) of Dover; his stepchildren, Gail Urban (Steve), Edmond DeLaurier, Jr. (Margaret), Janet Gilbert (Jim), James DeLaurier, Tamara Knight (Robert), Charles Richard (Lynn) and Pamela Richard (David); and his siblings, Claire Gauvin, Louise Kelley, Roland Girard, Bertrand and Marie. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
