He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank M. Matthews and Viola E. Matthews (Chase); and his siblings, Donald, George Matthews and Joyce Thayer.
He is survived by: his children, Melinda Johnson (Phil) of Manchester, MA and Rick Matthews (Annette); his granddaughters, Samantha and Arianna of Skaneateles, NY.; and his siblings, John Matthews and Marilyn Soule.
