He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman James and Sara James (Whitnum); and his siblings, Bill James and Sue Lyle. He is survived by: his children, Ashley James (Darrell Gerber) of Minneapolis, MN and Matthew James (Lorena) of South Berwick, ME; his grandson Andrew James of South Berwick; and his nieces and nephews, James Lyle, Kim Nichols and Kari Ferguson.
