He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Pickens, Jr. and Mary Ann Pickens (Carmer); and his wife Jeanette Pickens (Watkins Almquist). He is survived by: his sisters, Riley Deichert (James), Tracy Welch (Steven) and Molly Allamong (Mark); his sons, Michael Pickens (Elanor) of Lee and Daniel Pickens (Marie); his grandchildren, Amelie, Liam and Konstanze; his nieces and nephews, Victoria, Christian, Lauren, Karen, Katy and Benjamin; and also, Philip Almquist (Janet), Donald Almquist (Robyn), Anne Yardis (Michael), Michael, Lily and Amelia.
