He was predeceased by: his parents, George S. Smart and Myrtle McDougall (Counter); and his brother Thomas Smart. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Smart (Sullivan); his children, George H. Smart, Jr., Rodney (Melissa Smart), Trisha (Shawn Jennison) and Christopher Smart; his stepchildren, Jennifer (Sean Page), William Therrien and Cory Therrien; his grandchildren, Devyn, Kyle, Madisin, Adrianna and Kadyn; and his siblings, Rosalie (Gary Bergeron), Ronald (Jen Smart) and Grace Charland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
