He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael "Waa" and Margaret Kokinda (Mehalko); and his siblings, Michael Kokinda and Rosemary Kerr. He is survived by: his children, Robert V. Kokinda, Jr. of San Diego, CA and Brianne Kokinda of Londonderry; and his sister Shirley Ciculya of Hazleton, PA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
